The San Francisco crowdfunding site, that was founded in 2012, saw investments a lot more than quadruple from $55 million in 2020 to $236 million last year. Wefunder provides non-accredited individuals the opportunity to buy small businesses and startups, and by extension, also opens up funding opportunities for founders who can't access more traditional sources of investments.
