Virtual job interviews are another new sign of the changing times for Kroger hiring specialists like Walker.

Online interviews let recruiters based at Kroger's headquarters in Cincinnati relate solely to candidates across the country. That access comes at a critical time. Kroger really wants to hire 20,000 workers nationwide, including 2,000 in Cincinnati and Dayton.
Miami University economics professor Scott Dust said finding all those workers may prove challenging because COVID-19 forced many in the workforce to become less reliant on traditional opportunities.
